Northern Region clubs completed in the Real Life First Aid course over the weekend 11/12th Sept with 25 attendees. Saturday was held at East City and Sunday at North Harbour.
Well the 2016 race season is almost at an end and what a year it has been for myself. Ups, downs, rejection, success, crashes, fun, adventure and a whole of traveling and enjoyment both as an athlete and as a coach.
My 2016 BMX worlds journey began when me and my mum flew out of Auckland airport 16 May and landed in Medellin, Colombia on the 18th. The weather was very hot and humid, but bearable.
Nationals at Puni set the stage for what was going to be another epic challenge across the ditch as 32 trialists raced hard to be successful team members for our 2016 Mighty 11 team to travel to Sydney at the beginning of June.
The 2016 BMX World Championships were held in Medellin, Colombia from the 23rd to the 29th of May. Slightly earlier than last year due to the Olympics; which meant only 6 weeks of training post Nationals.
On May 14th we departed New Zealand to start another adventure across the world for the BMX World Championships. We first flew to Houston, Texas and later on moved to New Orleans for a little holiday to start our trip off.
Held over two days on 21/22 May 2016, the Hawera BMX Club hosted the 21st Annual Indoor BMX Championships with over 250 entries from all over the country.
On January 7th I dislocated my shoulder which was due to the injury I sustained at the national champs in 2015. I had only just started feeling myself again on the bike in December of 2015 after a long recovery,
Nationals is here! I am so excited to see my friends from all over NZ and race the fastest girls in my age group. It is so nerve-wracking because I want to race the best that I can and get a good result.
Stu Crichton who is a long time member of the Southland BMX Club in the deep south, was unlucky to have a heavy fall during a club race, on November 27th.
My Worlds trip started with ten days in Florida. Having some really good track time at both Oldsmar and Sarasota track was the focus for preparation leading into the World Championships.
