It’s very easy at club level to focus on rider development, track development, competitions, and solvency/funding issues, because these are the day to day management needs of the club.
Our journey began with the Mightys trials at Pre Norths where a number of high calibre riders took to the track endeavouring to make one of the 8 valued spot theirs.
Coming into the norths at Taupo the test teams were feeling good. We were excited to have Mark Harland-Croft, the captain of the men’s senior test team racing on his home track, Jamie Williams in the number 2 spot was on fire
An 11 year old boy from Ohauiti, Tauranga. Riding and coached out of the Tauranga BMX Club. Started on a bike unassisted at the age of 2 and half and started racing BMX at the age of 5. He is also a Haro Race Team member led by Kurt Pickard.
Labour weekend is always an action packed weekend in Taupō, but adding arguably the best event on the BMX NZ calendar with 700 odd BMX’ers to the district just made it even better!
Bikes were in style on Sunday 28 February as both the Capital BMX and the Wellington Mountainbike clubs opened new community recreation facilities made possible through grants from Transpower’s CommunityCare Fund.
Recreational and competitive cyclists will be spoilt for choice on Sunday 28 February when the southern North Island’s largest BMX track plus a 1.8km walking and mountain bike track are both officially opened in Wellington.
