Taupo BMX Club riders had to battle against not only other riders but also poor weather conditions at the 2014 BMX New Zealand National Championships in Tauranga this month.
Kapiti BMX had three new riders attending their first BMX national championships. Attending the nationals in Tauranga over Easter weekend were Ella Giddens (8 girls), Toby Gambrill and Tom Coleman (both 6 boys).
A series of changes have been announced to the qualification system for Olympic cycling with the aim of strengthening the competition across the road, track, BMX and mountain bike disciplines in time for the Rio Games in 2016.
