A new 7000sq/m BMX track in Romanes Reserve, Romanes Dr, Havelock North is due to be completed at the end of the month.
Members from the Hawkes Bay BMX Club have been helping to finish the track after construction first began in April last year.
Once completed it will host a national qualifying BMX meet next month, which would bring about 200 riders to the region from throughout the country.
The Hawke’s Bay BMX club will lease the finished track from the Hastings District Council.
The club has managed to fund most of the costs by securing sponsorship and funding but say they don’t quite have enough in their buget to cover everything.
