East City BMX Club, located in Glen Innes, Auckland have a special favour to ask.
Auckland Council wants to sell Merton Reserve (Our Home) to help pay for the purchase of Colin Maiden Park. They want to relocate us nearby, but the question is where. Land is pretty tight in Colin Maiden, and we need to create a voice for the sport locally to say how important it is to both club members and community members.
We have put a proposal together (check out www.colinmaidenbikehub.com) that says – hey, you have an extraordinary opportunity to create something amazing for the community…. build a bike hub that caters to all types of riders and skill levels!
We need as many people (that means everyone living in your home! even kids) who can go online and submit the form to let Council know how passionate the community is about cycling and BMX. Get as many friends and neighbours involved and let’s put some power to the people and let the Council know what could benefit this part of Auckland!
Can you please share it on Facebook, email it to your mailing list, get your family, your friends, your co-workers, everyone!! We need to show Council that Cycling is important. Not another mainstream sports field.
If you want to ring to discuss more, feel free to contact me.
Many Thanks
