BIKENZ rebrands to CYCLING NEW ZEALAND

BikeNZ, the National Sporting Organisation (NSO) leading and enabling the growth and success of cycling for New Zealanders, has today announced a rebrand to Cycling New Zealand.

Chief Executive Officer Andrew Matheson, said the move to Cycling New Zealand was much more than a new name and logo.

“Changing to Cycling New Zealand is an important and exciting change for us and we think it’s more attune with who we are, what we do and what we stand for.

“It’s also well summed up by a fellow NSO CEO who commented that BikeNZ is about bikes whereas Cycling New Zealand is about people.”

Cycling New Zealand has been working closely with its member codes and partners in recent months to ensure collective buy-in around the rebrand, and the essence that would underpin Cycling New Zealand.

The shift also had many other benefits including New Zealand’s over 1.3 million cyclists better identifying with Cycling New Zealand, and greater clarity both at home and abroad, with confusion around the name of BikeNZ and what it stood for.

Matheson said the change was effective immediately and that the organisation would progressively roll out the new brand in the coming months, including changing its email address, website and social media platforms. All stakeholders would be notified of any changes that would affect them, noting that the vast majority of change would be seamless.
