BikeNZ is looking to break even this year after making a loss in 2013.
The national body will report a net loss of $169,685 for the year ended December 31 at its annual meeting this weekend.
Chief executive Andrew Matheson, who took up the job last week, said 2013 was a significant year for the sport.
Highlights included the BMX world championships in Auckland, the new Home of Cycling centre in Cambridge and five medals, including gold, at the track world championships.
However, there had also been challenges and the net loss was mostly the result of unrealised commercial revenue and an inability to secure a principal sponsor.
Matheson said BikeNZ’s aim for the coming year would be to consolidate and to make changes based of the recent major review of its operations.
