Pure Black Dalliston Team

Pure Black Dalliston Team

What a season for Team Pure Black Racing culminating in winning the Dalliston Trophy! This was our first season to be involved in the Dalliston and with 11 teams competing this season the competition was fierce.

Going into Nationals Pure Black was only 2 points ahead of Chase and with several other teams close behind it was going to be a nail biting finish. Ten point scoring rounds nation-wide including Regional Champs, North and South Island Champs and Nationals and the final points came down to our riders performance over their first 3 motos at Nationals. Under the new racing format for Nationals our riders were racing over each of the three days and the suspense was extended! Pure Black riders raced their hearts out in some heavily stacked gates and we hoped it would be enough to retain our narrow winning margin. It was, just. A fantastic end to a fantastic season.

Being with a team has been great fun and introduces a friendly and supportive team environment to an otherwise highly individual sport. The support and encouragement for each other has really made a difference.

Some of the season highlights from a riders perspective:

“Travelling the South Island in the Pure van visiting tons of different tracks! It’s always fun with the team no matter what because everyone encourages each other in such a loving way. I couldn’t have asked for a better and cooler team to be part of”- Charlie

“Having friends in the team to hang out with and racing hard for points” – Jack

“Doing the South Island tour as a team and just hanging out” – Wyatt

“I liked being part of the winning team and knowing my points helped us to win. The race shirts made us standout and look real cool on the track!”- Logan

“It’s the best bike and I love being on the team”- Lily

“It’s a fun social experience, hanging out with mates and getting to know new and supportive people”- Bennett

“I love the team aspect as every moto you race you set out to win which in the end makes you faster”- Scott

The 2014-15 Pure Black team: Scott Hazlewood (45-49 cruiser), Charlie Lester-Rosson (13 Girls), Bennett Greenough (12 boys), Logan Hall (11 boys), Jack Greenough (10 boys), Wyatt Stevens-Mcnabb (9 boys) and Lily Greenough (8 girls).

We have loved travelling from Whangarei to Alexandra and representing the Pure brand with a common goal as a team to do our best in the Dalliston Series. A huge thanks to our  supporters, Pure, Faith, B&C Sports, Evo Cycles, Spoken and all the mums, dads and family.

Dalliston entries will be open again soon for the new season. Get involved, it’s worth it.

Regards
Chris Greenough
