“The calibre of riders who registered for the SDP Camp in Whangarei last weekend was nothing short of incredible” said newly appointed SDP BMX Coach Ash Rawson. “The future of NZ High Performance looks bright.”
With the Devo Team trials the following day some chose to save their energy and not participate in the coaching. However with a focus on technique and form rather than fitness the riders benefitted from the clinic without getting exhausted. Evidence was in the results with 6 of the 8 successful Devo Team riders having participated in the coaching.
Most impressive was the camaraderie and friendships between all of the riders. They fed off each other sharing different options on the track and pushing each other out of the gate.
Based on the positive comments and riders asking when the next camp was, the Whangarei SDP Camp was very well received.
