2017 FIRST WINDOWS & DOORS BMX New Zealand National Championships Weekend Format

2017 FIRST WINDOWS & DOORS BMX New Zealand National Championships Weekend Format

The following timetable is the final format for the pending 2017 National Championship. The format is based off a new formula advised at AGM. Where there will be 4 mixed motos, leading into deadman finals. The age groups per day have been altered to make the weekend fit better for ALL of the sport.

Friday
13+ 20″ has been added to the Friday with the M11’s trials, as the sport gave huge feedback that the M11’s trials were poorly attended, this way we have two great groups of racers together on that day.

Saturday
The 12 & under 20″ have been put together with the Championship classes, so we have the youngest of our sport looking up to & being inspired by the fastest in the sport.

Sunday
To cap off the weekend we have Cruisers, as the sport responded that the 20″ should be run first prior to Cruiser. Plus now with the NEW SUPERNATS class, which all Championship & Challenge licences riders can enter.

NEW FEATURES
Thursday & Afternoon Practice Sessions As a result of splitting out the days to individual classes, we have extended the practice session each day with the normal morning warmups, plus now a pm session for the next days riders after prize giving. Then we have NEW official BMXNZ practice sessions on the Thursday afternoon. This will be split into age groups for safety reasons.

SUPERNATS
This is a new superclass format for Nationals, where we wanted everyone to have a chance to mix in and race for the fastest juniors & seniors. So, we have put up a great purse & payback split in two age groups, then male & female.

This gives everyone with a championship or challenge licence who wants to give it a go, another opportunity for high level racing & a great chance of taking home some cash. Total purse – $2000 Payback – 50% Payout – to 11th place (to 1st, 2nd, 3rd in B final if run) Classes
13 & under – male
13 & under -female
14+-male
14+ -female
